Asher's elephant was excited. There was a new pet in the house and his name was Franklin. At first Asher's elephant did not know what kind of animal Franklin was. Franklin did not make any noises. He apparently liked to eat leaves. He spent a lot of time climbing and sometimes sat very still for long periods of time. Franklin lived in a container that Asher and his sister looked into. Asher found Franklin outside while on a walk with his dad. When Asher held Franklin, Asher laughed and said Franklin was tickling him. It sounded like Asher and his sister were waiting for Franklin to turn into something; Asher's elephant couldn't decide what Franklin would turn into. Would it be a flower? A leaf? Would Franklin turn into another animal? What a mystery! Asher's sister said Frankin was going to turn into a chrysalis. Asher's elephant thought this was a strange word, and he hoped that Franklin would be okay. Asher's sister said that Franklin would be growing while he was in his crysalis, and one day his crysalis would start cracking. Then it would crack some more, until Franklin came out again. Asher's dad said Franklin would be a moth, but he was wrong. Franklin is a butterfly!
